The Boston Harbor area is roughly characterized as the area between Budd and Henderson Inlets north of downtown Olympia. 36th Avenue NE serves as our southern boundary, at least for our elementary school. With its rural roots intact, the neighborhood still has numerous farms, and most homes are on at least one acre, if not more (with the exception of the Marina proper). We live less than 10 minutes from downtown Olympia, despite our rural vibe and vast lots, a factor that has kept the neighborhood popular even during the terrible real-estate market. But it is the community that I have become a part of in my 11 years as a Boston Harbor resident that I adore. With several hubs of activity - the school, the "Merc", the Marina - relationships are built and families stay generation after generation.
